Full Steam Ahead !

We are well underway with our summer program here in NY. We have completed our Canadian Strength Test, started rollerskiing, and have been on the road already !

(Canadian Strength Test)

The first couple of weeks we really focus on balance, coordination, and technique. As we progress throughout the summer we will add intensity, strength and endurance.

It's been a busy summer already with an early trip off to the USSA Eastern Regional Elite Group camp at Stratton Mnt. Not only is this camp an R.E.G but it is also acting a U15 camp. Adam and Gavin qualified for the R.E.G, and Riley qualified for the U15 camp based on results from last season.

One of the things that the U.S has been working on for a few years is getting athletes to become better more comfortable on skis. There are not many if any better than Andy Newell

At all of the R.E.G camps the ski team implements a series of test to be used as an indicator for future success. Along with the agility test athletes complete the Canadian Strength Test, and a running test. For the running test at Stratton Mnt the athletes took on Stratton Mnt it self ! The SMS Team has been doing the test for a number of years so they have some good data to compare times.

The best thing about this camp is the ability to jump in and follow some fast men and women !

All of the results from the test as well as many pictures can be found on the NENSA website as well as there Flickr and Facebook pages!

A huge shout out to NENSA, Stratton Mnt, U.S Ski Team, NNF, Stratton T2, athletes, coaches, and everyone else who made the R.E.G camp a huge success and for letting us come over and participate !
